Data Collection
Dockerman is a desktop application that runs locally on your machine. All container and image data is processed locally through your Docker daemon. We collect minimal, anonymous usage analytics to improve the product (see Analytics section below).
Anonymous Analytics
To understand how users interact with Dockerman and improve the product, we collect anonymous usage data via PostHog. This data is completely anonymous and cannot be used to identify you.
What we collect:
- App launch events (app version, operating system)
- Page navigation (which pages are visited)
- Feature usage (container, image, compose, network, volume operations)
- Docker host connection types (local socket, TCP, SSH)
What we do NOT collect:
- Personal identity information
- Container or image names/content
- IP addresses or location data
- Docker configurations or environment variables
- Any sensitive files or credentials
Opting Out
You can disable analytics at any time in Settings → Privacy. When disabled, no data is collected or transmitted, and any existing session data is cleared immediately.
Local Storage
Application settings and preferences are stored locally on your device. These settings are never transmitted to external servers and remain under your control.
Updates
When checking for application updates, Dockerman only connects to our release repository to verify the latest version. No personal information is transmitted during this process.
